Vivant Care Safe Children
Vivant Care is now seeking 5 Treatment Families and/or emergency homes for placement assignments. Safe Children. The assignment is offered in connection with the placement of children.
The compensation consists of a fee and reimbursement of expenses. The compensation is determined by the responsible social services before each assignment and is based on the child's needs and the scope of the assignment. Compensation is provided during the time the assignment is ongoing.
About the organizationSafe Children is a family and emergency home service that receives placements of children who, for various reasons, need to be placed in foster homes. The children's needs can vary in scope, from minor issues to greater needs for interventions.
Safe Children is the first foster home service in Sweden where all placed children are assigned a child representative. The main task of the child representative is to ensure the quality of foster care, prevent misconduct, ensure the child's participation in their own care, and prevent breakdowns in placements.
The organization has specialist competence in attachment theory, narcissistic violence, dissociation, substance abuse, LSS, and crime.
All foster homes and emergency homes within the organization are offered continuous training, supervision, and relief. Each individual foster home is assigned a dedicated contact in the form of a foster home consultant for ongoing support.
About the assignmentThe assignment is activated upon the placement of children from social services. If there is a need for an adult to be home full-time, there may be an opportunity for compensation for lost income. If compensation becomes relevant, it will consist of income loss, with approval from social services. In other cases, it is fully possible to continue working through your regular employment. This depends on the nature and complexity of the assignment and is done in consultation with the organization.
The organization is in great need of being able to offer foster homes for the inquiries it receives on a daily basis, and after the recruitment process is completed, we would like you to be ready to take on an assignment immediately. For this reason, the recruitment is not aimed at building a candidate database or similar.
Interventions within the assignmentAs a foster home or emergency home, you are responsible for:
Providing the child with a safe, stable, and loving home environment
Meeting the child's daily care needs, schooling, and contacts with care and other interventions
Collaborating with the operations manager, social services, child representatives, guardians, and other stakeholders
Being part of a team with other foster homes where experiences are exchanged.
Foster homes receive children for shorter or longer periods. You have the opportunity, in dialogue with the organization, to influence which target group, age, and case complexity you accept. There are different types of foster homes, and the categorization is based on the interventions the child needs.
For example, a foster home can involve an assignment that does not differ from a regular nuclear family, but also a treatment family that entails more extensive intervention treatment.
Emergency homesEmergency homes receive children who initially need to be placed for a shorter period, typically from a few weeks up to half a year. It is often desired that you can be home at the beginning of the placement. If you have a job, you will be compensated for income loss during the relevant period. A driver's license and a separate room for the placed child are required.
QualificationsWe welcome all types of family constellations, such as single parents, couples, parents and adult children, and families with or without their own children.
Requirements:
At least 23 years old
The child must be offered their own room
Criminal record check, suspicion register, social register, LOB register, as well as registers from the Social Insurance Agency and Enforcement Authority
For emergency home assignments: driver's license and the ability to be home full-time initially
Personal qualities that are highly valued include security, emotional availability, ability to collaborate, self-reflection, and commitment.
Previous experience with foster home assignments is not a requirement – training and supervision are offered continuously.
It is also advantageous to have previous education in care or social work - for example: social work education, teacher education, certified therapist training, or psychology or medical education.
Courses in relevant areas - such as low-arousal approach or trauma-informed care - are also advantageous.
If you have been a foster home before, that is also advantageous.
Conditions for the assignmentAssignment type: Foster home or emergency home
Scope: Varies depending on the complexity of the placement
Compensation: According to agreement
